What is the best way to improve in Mathematics exams?

We know from both experience and testing with school pupils and individuals that the best way to do better in exams is to complete practice exam papers.

Create A Test was created to provide a rich resource of unique practice exam papers.

Why is Create A Test different?

Create A Test are solely focused on improving individuals and school pupils performance in exams.

We have created a unique question bank of exam style questions that is accessed in different ways by you the user of Create A Test.

Is Create A Test just a tool used to revise before your
GCSE/IGCSE exam?

Create A Test will allow pupils to improve their Mathematics all the way through secondary school, or prior to that for entrance exams. It can be used as a revision tool, but is also useful as an additional resource to help pupils practise and revise mathematics as they progress through school.

The maths questions

One great feature of Create A Test is the regenerating questions that are based on precise algorithms.

This has benefits to both teachers and individual users of Create A Test.

See the different accounts to see how regenerating questions can be of benefit to you.

Example maths question

1. Solve the following pair of simultaneous equations (you must show your working):

2p - 4q = -12

2p - 2q = 0
 ....................
(Total 4 marks)

The Answers

p = 6

q = 6

Working Out

Subtract the two equations to give 0p + -2q = -12 (M1)

q = -12/-2

q = 6 (A1)

Substitute q = 6 into e.g. the first equation to give

2p - 4 x 6 = -12

2p - 24 = -12 (M1)

2p = -12 + 24

p = 12/2

p = 6 (A1)

so p = 6, q = 6

Note: trial and error gains no marks
